ETHOS
We are constantly trying to find ways to improve our screen printing practice. We want to lower our impact on the world as much as we can. We try to accomplish this through educating our clients about less harmful and wasteful processes all the while creating beautiful prints that last and can be cherished.
By being London based we are a more local option for those creating and manufacturing in the United Kingdom. We pride ourselves on being able to offer clients the chance to do creative local printing and then be able to complete production with us also.
COMMITMENTS
Here is a list of ways in which we work:
We predominantly use water based binders and pigments, with some or all of the following certifications. GOTS APROVED INPUT, ZDHC LEVEL 3(Zero discharge of hazardous chemicals), OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT CLASS 1 and NIKE RSL(Restricted substances list)
We encourage all our clients to only order what they require and to approve small samples before committing to large runs to stop unnecessary waste, we hope that by having no minimum quantities and recommending ordering little and often this cuts down on waste.
We try to reuse and recycle all the packing we receive in the studio, also reusing as much of our daily required material in the studio such as cloths, tape and pots. We take care of our equipment and reuse it all as much as possible. We keep clients' artworks and films so they can reuse or archive them for the future.
We carefully calculate the materials and inks required for every project to ensure that ink waste is a minimum, any leftover inks from projects we reuse on the next where possible.
We are always thinking about water efficiency when printing and how we can minimize the use of water through the way we work daily.
We welcome the use of second hand, reclaimed and deadstock fabrics and garments, we are always willing to find creative ways to enhance them through print.
AIMS
To get a water filtration/recycling system in place in our studio.
We would like to be able to hold peoples designs on screen longer, so that we can avoid having to re expose designs as frequently and encourage ordering little and often.
To continue to challenge ourselves to find more circular and sustainable practises for our studio. Through the research of all printing methods and mediums, along with taking great care with decisions whenever we buy for the studio to choose the most sustainable option.
